SEXY SWIMWEAR FOR THE PERFECT SUMMER

The bikini season has finally arrived! Thank goodness!!!!!

So, what are the top trends of the season?

Sexy Ruffles? Cute Triangle Top? Stylish one-piece? Chic Bandeau? Classic Balconettes? Uprising star: anything fringes?

Personally, I’m loving the new monokinis! The old, traditional one-piece trend? OUT!!!! I have buried it way behind the closet for its own good! (Now, THOSE are not something I want to flatter myself with at the beach!) But the NEW one-piece is a different story! The new one has transformed the traditional one-piece into a subtle sexiness ‘Monokinis’ with the different, creative cuts!

These are some swimwear on my inspiration board :)

Monokinis (One-piece):

H&M (Sport this surfer swimsuit! Not only does it highlights the athletic side of you but also the flirtatious side of you: definitely a win-win situation)

H&M (Fully lines swimsuit with ruffle at neckline and an open back with crossover ties)

Subtle cuts on the side with zebra designed that reveals your tiny waistline.

Victoria’s Secret (Love the unique cutting of the swimsuit!! Also, the combination of a bandeau and a one-piece is pure genius!! Now you don’t have to constantly worrying about you going nude; the crossover ties around the neck is a lifesaver)

Monokini with fringes (White)

GOLD TUBES PLUNGE 1PC

Sauvagewear (One piece plunge with front gold tubes lace-up. Thin ties at neck and back leave a stunning mostly-open back —- little complicated, but it’s something fresh)

Bandeau/Triangle Top:

Britt Bikini

H&M (Bikini top in textured fabric with lined cups and a decorative metal clasp at front. Boning at sides, silicone trip inside top edge, and back fastener)

Victoria’s Secret Glitter Cheetah Swimsuit (This is for you bling-bling lovers!!! ;))

H&M (Lined bikini top with metal details at front, fastener at back and ties at neck. Side support panels and silicone trim inside lower edge —- SIMPLE)

JAVA

Sauvagewear (color blocked bandeau with exotic multi-stone jewel)

VENEZIA

Sauvagewear (Twist halter with braided bronze rope)

Hope you enjoy reading my blog.

Remember, nothing is absolute in fashion!! Have fun with it!!! Try new designs!!

Motto: Keep it simple, both the design and color :) Have one single statement that defines the swimsuit as well as your body!

PRINCESS KATE MIDDLETON FASHION STATEMENTS

Princess Kate Middleton.

Nuff said, she is a true inspiration to many in the fashion world as she takes on the role of not just ‘the Princess’ but also a world-wide fashion icon!

I couldn’t take my eyes off of her the first time I saw her…on T.V. She was in her gorgeous Alexander McQueen wedding gown designed by Sarah Burton. The dress highlights her perfect silhoutte and toned physique. Anything she wears is just so KATE MIDDLETON!

Two words to describe her: sophisticated and classy! She is the Goddess of the New Era!

The way she presents herself defines a true Princess!

And, her smile! It is just so genuine, so kind.

Kate always managed to present herself in a simple and effortless form. Nothing ever looks so complicated on her.

So her style?

Neutral color (beige, nude, black, navy/royal blue, earthy green, white…etc). Any outfits that scream ‘sophistication’ (After all, she is a Princess). Flats and pumps (neutral color). Loose curls. Simple jewelries. Clutches.

I have put together a simple profile (of my many favorite Kate Middleton’s style) as a salute to our Princess.

Enjoy!

NEW FASHION TREND: TAKING ON THE ‘DOUBLE-DENIM’ PHENOMENA

Uh-huh!! Double-Denim is back! Summer’s most controversial and trickiest trend!!

For some, it’s a NO NO and NO! But for me, the new take on ‘Double Denim’ is a whole new level to the 2012 Spring/Summer styles.

As a matter of fact, I am challenging the denim-on-denim look while I’m typing away in epiphany at my favorite blogging place: Barnes & Nobles. (Nothing completes my life with sips of Caramel Frapp!)

I’m in my old washed-out denim jacket (back in 7th grade - talking about ancient!) and a lace white and gray tank tucked in my favorite eco-yoga denim. I didn’t jeweled-up much except for my simple go-to silver thumb ring and my black hipster glasses (a bit risky, i know). But hey! I have brought my all time favorite accessory: my smile!

My motto: “An outfit is never complete without a genuine smile. Life is too short to not smile and LOL, and plus, what’s there not to laugh/smile about? Trust me, you have nothing to lose!!” ;)

Okay, back to the DD talk. Not to lie, I don’t know much about the history of DD; therefore, I did a minor research…

America’s sex symbol, Marilyn Monroe, debuted the Double Denim style in who-knows-what-year, but since then, no one has dared to try pulling it off without a few criticisms here and there.

Later, you see Debbie taking on the infamous ‘Double-Denim’ look - 1978

I have been exposed to the infamous trend “double-denim” since I was little. With a fashionista mother, it is impossible to not be exposed to bizarre pieces every now and then. She is quite a character! If I can only be half daring as she is when it comes to trend setting. Quite frankly, a few of her put-together actually predicted the next season’s trend.

I live in Wisconsin, and let me tell you, not many people are willing to challenge any too-trendy looks, let alone the infamous double denim look. So where do I feed off my fashion addiction? Answer: Years of window shopping (when I’m on a low-budget, which happens quite often) and coffee dates with my favorite fashion magazines. My mother has always been an inspiration. Last but not least, my all-time inspiration is from the streets and the media. What I see and how I imagined them together play an important role in shaping my inspiration board as well as my own style.

So, double D, Infamous or famous? I can’t tell you for sure. There is no right or wrong in the world of fashion.

“I believed that fashion has no rules. If you can pull it off, go for it!”

According to Denimonology, there are few rules to keep in mind while taking on the new trend. (Take it lightheartedly - I see it as suggestions, fundamental ground rules, not absolute!)

1) No belt, please. With a belt, the look that you were hoping projected Paris catwalk insouciance becomes unreconstructed Idaho truck driver.

2) You need contrast in colour: One piece should be a darker-hued denim. You might want this on your bottom half, darker colours being more slimming, but beware: a pale denim shirt can wash out your skintone.

3) Don’t go with a very fine chambray shirt with a very heavy denim jean. That’s not double denim, that’s cheating, and it doesn’t have the right impact.

4) Break up the heaviness of the look with something light and feminine: the strap of a fabulous Chloé or Mulberry cross-body handbag, perhaps; or a gorgeous pair of dangly earrings; or wear the shirt open one extra button to show off a tiny glimpse of a pretty camisole.

5) Roll your sleeves up and highlight bare wrists with a bracelet or a cocktail ring.

6) Finally, no cowboy boots. Keep feet semi-naked in ballet pumps or a pretty flat sandal.

Lastly, what better way is there to illustrate fashion than visuals?

Check out some of the celeb’s take on the new ‘double-denim’ phenomena!

Alexa Chung in double denim

Alexa Chung take on the double denim look (some say ‘meh’ to this, but to me, I think she rocked the whole outfit. Though, I’m not too fond on the not-curl-enough hairstyles. I think a high-messy bun would complete the look a little bit better than her current hairstyles. Just a suggestion! ;)

Amber Heard: Absolutely a-do-rable! (loose top denim and skinny denim would make sense for a perfect match, but Amber had managed to pull of the loose on loose denim effortlessly - that proves something: there is no ABSOLUTE rules as to how to take on the hot trend, any trend actually)

South Korea’s trendsetter, G-Dragon (love him), takes on the denim on denim look at the airport (It’s a bit too much for my own liking, especially the shoes, but hey, it works for him!)

Kpop singer, and the nickname of a Sexy Little Wild Horse, Hyuna, debuted her new single “Bubble Pop” with numerous summer outfits, and one of them, Double Denim. Go figure!

Jessica Alba’s take on the DD style! (I kinda like the addition of the scarf to the whole outfit) - cuffed jeans is always a plus too! But if I was to wear this outfit, I will probably roll up the bottom of my jeans of at least one time.

emily vancamp double denim Emily VanCamp in Double Denim

Emily VanCamp (the fedora and the defined braid on the side is a totes plus to the new look)

Pharrell Williams (a biker-style dark denim jacket with jeans in a lighter wash—along with bright red sneakers and BBC beanie to match. Love it or Hate it?)

Hip Hop Swaggers: Kanye West and Chris Brown spotted to rock out the double denim style

(Prints + Double-Denim = Genius) —- I love it!

levis onesie.JPGthe “Fashion times are a-changing. Feast your eyes on these big girl onesies from Asos. The Levi’s Double Denim Onesie is a jean/shirt hybrid that features an oversized light wash shirt attached to straight cut zip fly jeans”. —- Smartypants! Love!

My take on double denim? KEEP IT SIMPLE! There’s no need to exaggerate, when it is already a bizarre combo. itself.

My style is simple: comfy and effortless.

One last memo:

“It’s a new era in fashion - there are NO rules. It’s all about the individual and personal style, wearing high-end, low-end, classic labels, and up-and-coming designers all together.” - Alexander McQueen

Secrets to Heavenly Bodies of Victoria’s Secret Angels

Shh…listen close, I got some juicy secrets for you! :)

Ever wonder how those sexy models work their bodies to get where they are today? I do! Errday!! Haha just kidding. I’m quite satisfied with my own weight. But there is simply no harm to healthy workout and diet. Okay okay, and of course, toast to the sexy bods!!

Like a dork, I chose to spend my lovely Friday afternoon reading fashion magazines and jotting down notes and ideas. Hmm…the beautiful weather and the smell of summer breeze can only add so much to the fun! Who would have thought reading and writing can be such a blast?!!! haha

We often complained about the person we see in the mirror, but never really took the time to discover the factors that contributed to the “always-seem-to-be-unsatisfying” body. “I don’t have time to work out!” “I don’t have the money to buy organic food!” “I just don’t have the motivation to work out!” Complaints are not going to cut it! There is always a solution to those problems. For instance, I do planks, leg lifts, and stretch while watching my favorite shows. I don’t eat organic food! I based my snacks and lunch on vegetables and fruits. And I don’t have the motivation to work out either, so I create a “fitness” inspiration board to remind myself a healthy lifestyle requires hardwork! I never have the energy to run in the morning, so I run in the evening. I love music and dancing, so I tried to dance daily for 20 minutes!

And who says work out only happens in the gym?! It’s everywhere! It’s in the dance studio, home, work, and I also like to think shopping is a way to burn calories too! There is no excuse to not exercise in some way.

My motto? Simple. Action and Self-Motivation.

That being said, a SEXY body doesn’t just appear magically overnight. You gotta work for it! Nothing comes without HARDWORK and it’s never too late. Of course, these diets and workouts are not for everyone. You have got to develop your own, for each of our bodies work in its unique sense.

While reading the Vogue (British), I ran across the ‘City of Angels’ article. Doing nothing but revealing six of the angels’ recipes of having a heavenly body.

I figured I would copy down the given secrets to sexy bodies for those who haven’t gotten the chance to read the archive. Plus, isn’t this just the perfect season to flash our perfect bodies for the bikinis/swimwears we prepared before summer even arrived?! I did! haha

All righty, enough of me rambling, here are the secret recipes! ;)
